V-Reds Drop 3-1 Decision To Laval

(HALIFAX, NS) The Laval Rouge et Or beat the UNB Varsity Reds 3-1 Saturday, in Atlantic University Sport-RSEQ interlock play, in Halifax.

UNB did force Laval to score 26 in the final two sets, but in the end they weren't able to hang on to either set, and Laval took the victory.

The Varsity Reds were able to come out of the gate with a quick 5-1 lead in the first set, but a string of errors allowed Laval to bounce back.

UNB hung on to take the set 25-22.

Laval won the second set 25-12 before taking the third and fourth by the same 26-24 count.

Pascal McCarthy(Fredericton, NB) led the Varsity Reds with 18 kills and 6 digs.

Freshman Nick Glynn(Fredericton, NB) had 9 kills and 4 digs.

UNB returns to Halifax on November 11th for a match against the Dalhousie Tigers.
