(FREDERICTON, NB) Miles Pinsent is adding another piece to the puzzle, as he builds his 2016 Varsity Reds side.
The head coach of the UNB Varsity Reds men’s soccer team has received a CIS Letter of Intent from Anthony Boschi, a versatile striker/winger, from Mississauga, Ontario.
“Anthony is a quick and creative player whose style will fit nicely with our team,” says Pinsent.
Boschi has been part of the Toronto Lynx soccer program, at the U17/U18 and U18/U19 levels.
He was a member of the Lynx U18/U19 side that captured the championship at a New York tournament.
Boschi says attending the prestigious Super Y Nationals, in Bradenton, Florida, is the highlight of his soccer career, so far.
“It was an incredible experience that showed me the passion and determination needed to attain goals in a top-notch competitive environment,” says Boschi.
Boschi, who plans on studying Psychology, hopes to fulfill athletic and academic goals while at UNB.
“UNB has a truly committed and talented team, as well as a coaching staff who utilize phenomenal athletic facilities to focus on the growth of each player,” says Boschi. “As a Varsity Red, I look forward to learning the techniques that the team exercises while applying them to my game, so that we can work together as a strong unit with a championship-oriented mentality.”
Anthony Boschi will join the Varsity Reds beginning in the 2016-17 season.
The Varsity Reds are three time and defending Atlantic University Sport men’s soccer champions.
UNB will host the AUS men’s soccer championship tournament November 3-6.
